The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Colgate University invites applications for two or more positions at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning in the Fall semester of 2023 with the possibility of renewal for an additional year dependent on performance and institutional need. One position will be in the area of cognitive psychology, and others are open to area, though emphasis on social, personality, developmental, or clinical psychology are encouraged. Successful candidates will be expected to teach staff-taught courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, Biological Psychology, Research Methods, Quantitative Methods), upper- level courses in the candidate’s specialty area, and supervision of senior thesis work (which normally counts as one course). Successful candidates may also be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.

Completion of a Ph.D. in Psychology, or a related field is required prior to, or shortly after, the date of hire. The teaching load for this position is equivalent to five courses per year. Please note that no work visa sponsorship will be available for this position.
