Position Description
Title: Kobayashi-Maskawa Institute (KMI) at Nagoya University, Japan is actively seeking candidates for a few Foreign Designated Professor positions (Cross-appointment, three months every year). Outline: Kobayashi-Maskawa Institute for the Origin of Particles and the Universe, (KMI), Nagoya University, was founded in 2010 in order to solve the fundamental mysteries of elementary particle physics and the universe and to develop a new frontier in physics by the collaboration between theoretical particle physics groups, experimental particle physics groups, cosmology and theoretical astrophysics groups, experimental astrophysics groups, and mathematical physics groups including string theorists. KMI has launched the Flavor Physics International Research Center (FlaP) in April, 2023, in order to promote international research and education on flavor physics, which is expected to make great progress in the 2020s. KMI has a new opportunity to invite Foreign Designated Professors who will stay three months every year in KMI during the fiscal years 2023-2027. Successful candidates will be expected to collaborate with researchers in the FlaP KMI and promote the experimental research on flavor physics (high precision and sensitivity measurements for B/tau decays, top, Higgs, muon, neutrino, and neutrons) and/or related future research to play an essential role to establish an international research hub at KMI. Job type: Foreign Designated Professor Salary: 750,000–1,680,000 Japanese yen per month Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Premiums for mandatory health insurance and welfare pension will be deducted from the payment. Qualifications: Postgraduate - Doctorate/PhD Nagoya University has a retirement age of 65 years old.
