A postdoctoral position in condensed matter theory is available at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) with the start date around September 2022. The postdoc primarily works with Prof Yahui Zhang, but collaborations with other faculties in condensed matter theory and experiment are highly encouraged. The position supports two years of funding, with the possibility of extension to a third year upon mutual agreement. The appointment includes a competitive salary and benefits, and research/travel funds.

The successful candidate should finish his/her PhD study before the starting of the position. Recent research interest of Yahui Zhang (see https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=Udx-r8cAAAAJ&hl=en) is on strongly correlated physics such as moire systems, high Tc superconductor, spin liquids, non-Fermi liquids, quantum Hall systems, etc. Both analytical and numerical techniques are employed in the research. Research experience in either numerical simulation (DMRG, variational monte carlo, determinant monte carlo, etc) or analytical study (parton theory, quantum field theory, renormalization group etc) is a plus, but not required for the position.

Instructions: Applications should be submitted through https://academicjobsonline.org/20170. Application materials include 1) A CV 2) A research statement up to three pages, 3) A minimum of three letters of recommendation. Applications will be reviewed beginning December 15, 2021, and the position will remain open until filled. The start date is flexible and expected to be around September 2022. For inquiries about this position, please email Yahui Zhang (zhangyh1992@gmail.com).
