(MIT) has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate to work on the CMS experiment.
The successful candidate will join an exciting group actively working on rich programs targeting
Higgs boson property measurements, Dark Matter searches, and AI-based anomaly detection.
The MIT group is involved in several detector projects, including the Level 1 Trigger Upgrade
and CMS Computing. MIT is playing a leading role in developing AI-based algorithms for use at the LHC and other
domains. The successful candidate will join the cross-disciplinary Institute for Artificial
Intelligence and Fundamental Interactions (IAIFI) and be a member of the Institute of
Accelerated AI algorithms for Data Driven Discovery (A3D3). Furthermore, the AI work has expanded to other research domains, including neutrino physics
and gravitational waves. We are seeking a candidate interested in developing algorithms for the
L1 trigger, particularly with the integration of AI algorithms. There is also the potential to
contribute to other experiments, including the laser interferometer gravitational wave
observatory (LIGO) or the potential dark matter experiment DarkQuest. The position is available immediately; applications are considered until the position is filled. To

are initially for one year and renewable annually, subject to mutual satisfaction. Interested

Job Requirements: The Candidates should have a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics, data analysis, computing,
programming skills, and the ability to carry out an independent research program. FPGA
experience is optional but would strengthen the overall application.
