The positions are open to candidates at any rank, although preference will be given to senior assistant professors with established publication records. Minimum requirements are an earned Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related discipline from an AACSB accredited university or international equivalent, a record of scholarly publications commensurate with rank, and a demonstrated ability of teaching within information systems.

ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT The Department of Computer Information Systems’ vision is to be a world leader in advancing knowledge in the IS discipline. The department has a rich history of leading cutting-edge research topics and embracing a plurality of theoretical perspectives and research methods. Consistent with the Robinson College’s new strategic plan, Accelerate 2025, the department’s future is to build on these strengths by recruiting and integrating outstanding faculty that will allow us to continue address business problems and phenomena while expanding to investigate high-stakes societal challenges.

The first year of a multi-year recruiting effort is being launched to achieve this ambitious goal. The hiring plan for this first year is to recruit multiple faculty who will add depth and breadth of expertise to the department with a particular focus on cybersecurity, data management and analytics, and digital innovation. Successful candidates will demonstrate technical and methodological expertise that results in publications in the premier scholarly journals in information systems and the premier journals of other business and related disciplines. Ideal candidates will possess strong theory development skills and be able to work on multidisciplinary research teams that include departmental faculty and those in relevant academic units across the Robinson College and Georgia State University to contribute to the envisaged dynamic research environment. Atlanta’s reputation as the economic capital of the Southeast is well established, and the region is now rapidly developing as a tech hub. Venture capitalist Leura Craig recently was quoted saying, “We think that the Southeast and especially Atlanta has the opportunity to become a key hub for tech startups in the next 5 years. It feels a lot like Los Angeles five years ago. Covid dramatically accelerated the flight from California and New York and the Southeast’s tech scene is going to be a huge winner as a result of this migration.”
