Exceptional candidates are being recruited for a Research Associate Position in the laboratory of Professor Bruce Donald in the departments in computer science and biochemistry at Duke University.

The minimum requirements for the job are:

B.S. in mathematics and computer science

Coursework in computational biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, differential geometry, computer science, algorithms, and probability

Expertise in algorithms, theory, and software for NMR structural biology

Expert level skills at DISCO, Fold Operator Theory, LibProtNMR, and RDC-analytic.

The successful candidate will have training and experience in computational structural biology and be interested in applying algorithms and mathematics to significant biological problems involving NMR of membrane proteins and drug targets of biomedical and pharmacological importance. Clear communication skills, excellent writing ability, excellent software engineering and coding ability, and the willingness and desire to work with both mathematicians and experimental biochemists is essential.
