The Bergin lab at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University has several Researcher Positions Available to Develop Low-Cost Air Filtration Systems to Improve Human Health and Mitigate COVID Risk in Indoor Environments.

We are seeking to fill several part-time research positions to develop low-cost filtration systems that remove both air pollutants and pathogens, including COVID, in indoor environments. We will take advantage of our expertise in developing low-cost air quality sensors, and the design of devices to improve indoor air quality. Objectives will include designing and fabricating prototypes, measuring the efficiency of the filtration devices, and conducing field tests in several indoor environments. Desired expertise will include one or more of the following; experience with protoype design and 3D printing, Arduino and related microprocessor programing, circuit design and printed circuit board fabrication, computer programming including R and Python. The ability to work with a diverse team is also crucial.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field.
