The Department of Biology at Boston University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer beginning January 1, 2021, renewable based on satisfactory performance. We seek a colleague with a commitment to undergraduate education and a track record of excellence in teaching. Teaching responsibilities include 4 lecture and/or lab-based courses per year in the areas of introductory biology, cell biology, and molecular biology. The successful candidate will have a PhD in biology or a related field, and experience with evidence-based teaching practices and incorporating research into teaching. The position will involve active engagement in the academic life of the Biology program, such as serving as an academic advisor to a cohort of undergraduate biology majors, coordinating student peer-mentoring programs, developing curricular materials, serving as a research mentor for undergraduates, participating in Senior Thesis, Master’s or PhD committees, and contributing to the development of academic initiatives.
