866 0The Division of Geriatric Medicine sits within both the Department of Medicine and the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. The Division is comprised of a diverse faculty and has research, clinical, and educational missions. UMMS has pursued an ambitious Advancing Geriatrics Education initiative under a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. The Division’s research program is closely aligned with the Meyers Primary Care Institute, a member of the HMO Research Network, with a mission to improve the health and healthcare of vulnerable populations. Faculty members lead a portfolio of research focused on aspects of population health and/or health care delivery. This includes substantive areas such as cancer, cardiovascular, chronic illness, medication safety, and aging research. The Division also maintains a close relationship with the Medical School’s Department of Quantitative Health Sciences and the UMass Center for Clinical and Translational Science.
