Position Description:
   

The Department of Biology at Boston University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer beginning January 1, 2025. This is a teaching track line with possibility for renewal and promotion based on performance. We seek a colleague with a commitment to undergraduate education and a track record of excellence in teaching. The position carries a teaching load of four courses in Neurobiology per academic year. The successful candidate will have a PhD in biology, neuroscience, or a related field and experience with evidence-based teaching practices and incorporating research into teaching. The position will involve active engagement in the academic life of the Department of Biology, such as serving as an academic advisor to a cohort of undergraduate biology majors, coordinating student peer-mentoring programs, developing curricular materials, serving as a research mentor for undergraduates, participating in Senior Thesis, Master’s or PhD committees, and contributing to the development of academic initiatives. The Department of Biology believes that the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs.
