Teaching Faculty Position in Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) Boston University College of Engineering Online MS in Software Engineering for Artificial Intelligence The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Boston University invites applications for non-tenure track teaching faculty position beginning as soon as March 2026 to support our rapidly growing Online Master’s Program in Software Engineering for Artificial Intelligence. Candidates must hold an MS or equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline. We welcome applicants with a strong commitment to teaching, curricular development, online pedagogy that is informed by translating real-world engineering or industry experience into high-impact graduate education. ECE at BU is a world-class department that is steadily gaining national and international prominence for its exceptional research and education record. The department has 54 faculty members, 325 graduate students, and 350 BS majors. ECE is part of the dynamic BU College of Engineering community of students, faculty and staff. The College has a strong tradition of working across boundaries and expanding access to graduate-level engineering education. ECE faculty have deep interdisciplinary collaborations across campus—including Computing & Data Sciences, the Hariri Institute, Questrom School of Business, and the Center for Information & Systems Engineering—creating a robust ecosystem for AI and software engineering education. Depending on qualifications and experience, the successful candidate will be appointed either as a Lecturer or as Associate Professor of the Practice in ECE. The position carries a teaching load of five to six courses per year, primarily in support of the ECE online program with an option to also contribute to ECE residential programs. This teaching load may be reduced in the first year to allow for course development. Remote or hybrid work is possible for candidates appointed as lecturers to teach online courses exclusively.
