Postdoctoral Associate in Neuroscience & Metabolism Research

The Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, is seeking applications for a postdoctoral associate in neuroscience and metabolism research. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and inclusive research environment to explore neural circuits involved in food digestion and metabolism and their implications for health conditions such as obesity and diabetes. This is a one-year, full-time position with potential for renewal. This position is under the supervision of Dr. Yuhan Wang and provides opportunities to conduct independent and cutting-edge research in the field of neuroscience and metabolism and advance professional career development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct independent research projects.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary research team.
- Apply for internal and external funding with mentorship support.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in neuroscience, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Demonstrated experience with mouse models, molecular biology, histology, or microscopy techniques.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or R is a plus but not required.

Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
- Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
- Unique applicable skills.
