Associate in Research - Neuroimaging & Speech Analysis
Our dynamic research lab is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate in Research to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of neuroimaging and speech science.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in two key areas:
1. Neuroimaging Analysis for Volume of Tissue Activated (VTA) Calculation
- Process and analyze MRI and CT scans to precisely segment anatomical structures and regions of interest.
- Develop and apply computational methods for accurate calculation of Volume of Tissue Activated (VTA).
- Ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of all VTA calculations and optimize analysis pipelines.
2. Speech Analysis for Dysarthria & Other Metrics
- Manage and analyze audio recordings of speech from research participants.
- Perform detailed acoustic and perceptual analysis of speech samples.
- Quantify the level of dysarthria using established and potentially novel metrics.
- Analyze other relevant speech metrics (e.g., speech rate, intelligibility, shimmer) to assess therapeutic efficacy.
General Expectations
- Maintain a comprehensive, clear, and detailed laboratory notebook for all experimental procedures, data acquisition, and analysis methodologies.
- Establish and maintain separate, up-to-date Git repositories for each project, ensuring robust version control and collaborative accessibility.
- Adhere to established data management protocols, including secure storage and backup.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to scientific discussions.
- Prepare regular progress reports and present findings to the research team.
- Stay current with relevant scientific literature and advancements in neuroimaging and speech analysis.
- Adhere to all institutional safety guidelines and ethical regulations.
Required Qualifications at this Level
- BS in BME, CS, or related field.
- Experience with neurophysiology, ML methods and deep brain stimulation
- Experience with Matlab and Python
- Experience with Git for version control.
