Position Description
The ODE Summer Design Camp also functions as a professional development and training opportunity for middle and high school STEM teachers. Teachers are invited to participate in the camp to learn engineering design alongside the students.
Teachers are paid $5,000 for their participation in the summer camp and subsequent implementation of their design-centric lesson plans. Additionally, ODE will provide up to $1,000 worth of supplies to support lesson plan implementation.
The next Summer Design Camp takes place June 23-July 25, 2025!
• What to Expect •
On Monday through Thursday each week, teachers will observe and support students as they learn and apply the engineering design process. As the program progresses, the teachers will also spend time developing curricular materials for the upcoming school year.
On Fridays, teachers with work with the program leaders to revise their curricular materials and deepen their knowledge of the engineering design process.
As a part of the program, teachers will implement the materials they have developed to enhance students’ engagement and content understanding. Implementation will take place during the falling school year.
