Position Description:
The Pratt School of Engineering, Institute for Enterprise Engineering at Duke University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to serve as faculty-mentor for their Game Design, Development and Innovation Program. Coaching sessions will be provided to a group of students (Group as a game studio). This position is expected to be part time.
This is a temporary two-year appointment with extension possible based on needs.
Candidate should have relevant background in the topics of interest or more than 7 years of professional experience in areas of game design, game development and/or related to game tools and the application of games for innovation.
The successful candidate for this role will be expected to:
- Assist with the design, organization, and delivery of one or two lectures and workshops per semester.
- Collaborate with the faculty member and/or program director responsible for the course
- Mentor students in the class and respond to student issues throughout the semester
- Assist with multiple types of assessments of student performance in the course
- Meet with student teams on a weekly basis, provide academic advising, and industry specific coaching and advice
- Help advocate and communicate concerns to faculty and program administrators
Adjunct Instructor is a non-regular rank faculty position.
