Duke University invites applications for an Associate in Research position in Statistical Science under the mentorship of Professors Surya Tokdar and Jennifer Groh. This position will be involved with conducting research at the intersection of neuroscience and statistics. The primary responsibility of the candidate will be to advance statistical methodology useful for investigating the neuroscience theory of Multiplexing. The candidate is expected to innovate statistical methods and algorithms, create software implementations, carry out numerical experiments, analyze data collected at the lab, and help write manuscripts based on these findings. The candidate is also expected to participate in lab meetings and discussions, be a statistics advisor to other junior lab members, and contribute to the collective intellectual development. A bachelors degree in Statistics or a related field is required, although the ideal candidate would have a PhD in statistical methodology, training in Bayesian modeling and computation, and experience with analysis of spike train data.To apply, please submit CV, cover letter, and the contact information for at least three references to Academic Jobs Online (https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/29754) as soon as possible.
