Postdoctoral positions: Bootstrapping black holes in gravitaitonal scattering. Project Title: Bootstrapping Black Holes in Gravitational Scattering ANRF Grant No.: ANRF/ARG/2025/001338/PS Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions under the above ANRF-funded project. Number of positions: 2 One position at IISc, Bengaluru One position at IIT Kanpur Duration: 1 + 1 + 1 years (initial appointment for 1 year, extendable annually based on performance and project needs) Start date: As soon as possible Principal Investigator (PI): Aninda Sinha (IISc Bengaluru) Co-Principal Investigators (co-PIs): Diptarka Das (IIT Kanpur) Apratim Kaviraj (IIT Kanpur) Project Description The project aims to develop and apply modern bootstrap and S-matrix / amplitude methods to questions at the interface of gravitational scattering, black-hole physics, quantum field theory, and conformal field theory, with an emphasis on both conceptual developments and high-precision computations. Apart from the investigators listed above, the other collaborators include Agnese Bissi (ICTP) and Arnab Priya Saha (IISc). Nature of the position The primary appointment will be in the position of a Research Associate in either IISc Bangalore or IIT Kanpur, while there will be flexibility for extended visits in the partner institutes. Both institutes have large and active String Theory and High energy groups.
