The Department of Anthropology at Macalester College invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Biological Anthropology at the level of Professor or Associate Professor, to begin fall, 2025. Applicants at the level of an advanced Assistant Professor will also be considered. Applicants should have substantial teaching experience, and evidence of sound scholarship and research experience, and should have the experience or willingness to lead an academic department. Candidates may negotiate a shortened timeline to tenure, depending on their level of experience. A broad training in the four fields is desirable but not necessary; the successful candidate will join a department otherwise comprised of cultural anthropologists. Specialization in biological anthropology open. The normal teaching load is 5 courses/year. Besides topics in their specialization, the successful candidate should be prepared to teach courses in introductory biological anthropology and human evolution.
