We seek a sociologist whose research and teaching interests will add breadth to our curriculum. In addition, candidates relying on an OPT Visa with a STEM extension are not eligible for hire. The Berg and Wallin Post-doctoral Fellowships were established in 2015 with seed funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and subsequent gifts from donors with the intention of bringing to Macalester promising young scholars who augment the expertise of permanent faculty, enrich the intellectual community, and contribute to curricular innovation. In turn, the fellows benefit from immersion in the intellectual life of the college, a focus on a foundational scholarly project, and growth in their capacities as teachers, guided by Macalester faculty. These fellowships are intended to support faculty in the humanities and social sciences. Fellows serve two-year terms and teach three courses per academic year.
