Position Description

The College of Science and Technology (CST) at Temple University includes academic units in biology, chemistry, computer science, geoscience, math, and physics, with interdisciplinary areas such as bioinformation, biophysics, medical dosimetry, and quantum materials. CST aims to enhance its national and international reputation for research excellence and teaching, promote innovation, build a diverse scientific community, and positively impact the world. The college offers innovative academic programs, career services, and research opportunities to support student success. CST research is funded by agencies such as the NIH, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, NSF, and various private foundations. CST seeks to fill a non-tenure track position for the Medical Dosimetrist Professional Science Master’s Program (PSM). The successful candidate will engage in teaching for the Medical Dosimetry PSM program and in student supervision during clinical training at Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCCC). For the latter, the candidate will be working closely with medical dosimetrists, medical physicists, radiation oncologists and radiation therapists at FCCC. Dosimetrist Duties and Responsibilities • Teaching medical dosimetry courses for the Medical Dosimetry PSM. • Cooperate with medical dosimetrists at FCCC to supervise the PSM students during clinical training at FCCC. • Participate in medical dosimetrist duties at FCCC (ie. treatment planning, etc.). • Monitor students’ progress during clinical training Dosimetrist Requirements and Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in medical dosimetry or related field. • Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) certification. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical dosimetry. • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and procedures, radiation therapy simulation and treatment techniques and medical terminology. • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. • Able to work with diverse populations. • Proficient with radiation therapy treatment planning software. Starting Date: May 2025
