The Department of Physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in Experimental High Energy Physics with the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.The Illinois ATLAS Group is broadly focused on searches for physics beyond the standard model and is actively involved in Phase-II upgrades and high-performance computing through the Illinois Tier-2 Computing Center.
The successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in ATLAS data analysis and Phase-II upgrades for ATLAS tracking and trigger system.
Our group is part of several interdisciplinary centers and institutes including the Accelerated AI Algorithms for Data Driven Discovery Institute (A3D3), Illinois Quantum Information Science and Technology Center (IQUIST), and Center for Artificial Intelligence Innovation. The successful candidate will be encouraged to explore their interests in AI and Quantum Information to strengthen HEP research and broaden its impact for discovery science through collaborations within these centers and institutes.
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in particle physics by the time of appointment.
