Position Description
POCASSET FACILITY MEDICAL DIRECTOR
The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMass
Chan) seeks a board-certified psychiatrist to serve as the Facility Medical
Director (FMD) for The Cape Cod and the Islands Community Mental Health Center
in Pocasset, MA.
The Facility Medical Director’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative and clinical oversight to the DMH operated adult mental health center including a 16-bed inpatient unit and an adult partial hospital program. The Facility Medical Director will also provide clinical guidance to community-based programs. More specific responsibilities include utilization management, risk management, support for DMH initiatives, and oversight of clinical and psychopharmacology services. There are opportunities for research, including protected time depending on experience and goals.
Successful candidates will receive a faculty appointment that includes Department of Psychiatry support for clinical, training and research. There is the option for voluntary night, weekend and holiday coverage with highly competitive reimbursement.
***This position is eligible for a
hybrid/remote schedule combining regularly scheduled on-site time at the
facility in Pocasset, MA, and remote/virtual coverage. ***

In alignment with our
commitment to pay transparency, the established Department of Mental Health
base salary for this position is $300,000 (exclusive of benefits and
retirement).

final base salary offers are determined based on a combination of factors,
including your skills, education, and relevant experience. We also consider
internal equity to ensure fair and consistent compensation across our teams.
Please note that the range
provided reflects the full base salary range for this position. Offers are
typically made within the starting range to allow for future growth and
development within the role.
