Position Description
Mobile Forensic Psychologist The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School Law and Psychiatry program seeks to fill a Faculty position in the Psychiatry Department on its Mobile Forensic Evaluation Service. The Service provides forensic evaluations of competence to stand trial, criminal responsibility, civil commitment, and aid-in sentencing at the Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital and Tewksbury State Hospital. In addition, the Service provides violence risk assessment consultations to Department of Mental Health Facilities. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D./Psy.D., specialized training/experience in Forensic Psychology, have experience in risk assessment, and be licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in Massachusetts. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate ability to contribute to the academic mission of UMass Chan Medical School, including within our Forensic Psychology Postdoctoral Residency Program and/or Psychology Internship Program. The position is open to early career forensic psychologists and those with more experience. Depending on experience, there are opportunities for leadership positions within the program as well as in the associated Forensic Residency Program. The selected candidate will be recommended for a UMass Chan faculty appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor based on qualifications.
