Position Summary: 
The Department of Physics at Yale University (http://physics.yale.edu/) invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer for the 2024-2025 academic year. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of extension to a 3-year, renewable appointment. The position will include teaching and developing undergraduate physics laboratory and lecture courses, as well as serving as Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies. Our students are an extraordinary group of highly motivated scholars from diverse backgrounds, and the Physics Department has a long history of prioritizing high-quality teaching and student mentoring. We seek a colleague who will be an interactive member of our department, and in the vanguard of our mission to teach, mentor, and promote equity and inclusion among our students. A mentoring committee appointed by the Chair will work with the successful candidate to support their continued professional growth. This is a renewable position with a promotion track (Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Senior Lecturer II). 

Required Qualifications: 
  • A Ph.D. in Physics, or related fields
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of course design, assessment methods, and a variety of teaching strategies for introductory labs and lecture courses
  • Documented evidence of physics laboratory and classroom teaching ability
