The Institute of Physics (IOP) at Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in the area of condensed matter physics at the Assistant Research Fellow rank. For exceptional candidates, appointments at higher ranks would also be possible. We especially welcome applications from members of all underrepresented groups in STEM and all nationalities.

We welcome applications from all areas of condensed matter physics. Applicants with expertise in the areas of physics and materials for quantum computation, spintronics experiment and theory, growth and characterization for quantum material physics , and many body theory are particularly encouraged to apply.

Academia Sinica is the most prominent research institution in Taiwan and IOP is committed to the pursuit of excellence in physics research. We seek creative and enthusiastic candidates with the background and skills to build upon and complement existing strengths, and help expand our research program into new exciting areas. The successful applicants can expect a highly competitive level of support for the start-up of their research program and collaborative research ventures, including well-equipped user facilities, and intramural funding (for example, Academia Sinica Career Development Award, Academia Sinica Early-Career Investigator Research Achievement Award, etc.), in addition to external funds from various agencies.

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in physics or related areas, and preferably at least two years of postdoctoral experience.
