The Department of Physics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong has one opening for a postdoctoral fellow or postdoctoral research associate in Dr. Yangqian Yan’s research group. Additional openings may be available depending on funding availability. Dr. Yan’s research focuses on the theoretical ultracold atoms. We are looking for candidates with different skills and research interests, including ultracold atoms, condensed matter, few-body physics, topological states of matter, Floquet theory, machine learning. Candidates with skills and interests in any of these subjects are welcome to apply.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The annual salary for a postdoctoral fellow ranges from 404,940 HKD to 479,940 HKD. (around 51941.69 USD to 61,561.52 USD) The salary for the postdoctoral research associate ranges from 349,380 HKD to 404,940 HKD. (around 44815.00 USD to 51941.69 USD)

The initial appointment will be for 2 years, renewable to 3 years depending on satisfactory performance. Extensions beyond 3 years are dependent on performance and funding availability.
