Position Description:    

POCASSET FACILITY MEDICAL DIRECTOR The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) seeks a board-certified psychiatrist to serve as the Facility Medical Director (FMD) for The Cape Cod and the Islands Community Mental Health Center in Pocasset, MA. 

The Facility Medical Director’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative and clinical oversight for the DMH operated and contracted adult acute care, 16 bed, state hospital. In addition, the Facility Medical Director will provide clinical guidance to the community programs including psychiatric coverage for the Adult Partial Hospital Program. More specific responsibilities include utilization management, risk management, support for DMH initiatives, and oversight of clinical and psychopharmacology services. There are opportunities for research, including protected time depending on experience and goals. 

 Successful candidates will receive a faculty appointment that includes Departmental support for clinical, training and research. The benefit package is a generous state plan with holiday and paid time off totaling to more than 7 weeks. There is the option for voluntary night, weekend and holiday coverage with highly competitive reimbursement. ***For qualified candidates, this position is eligible for locality adjusted compensation up to $300k per year.**** 

The Department of Mental Health also has very lucrative student loan repayment programs-candidates who provide direct care or case management in one of DMH’s State-operated programs are eligible for a generous repayment package in exchange for four (4) years of dedicated service. Part-time awards are available, prorated up to 50%.
