INTRODUCTION The School of Business at the University of Connecticut invites applications for an Assistant Extension Professor in the Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies, a nationally and internationally recognized academic center of excellence in real estate education and research. This is a non-tenure track faculty appointment within the Finance Department and will begin in Fall 2022. The successful candidate will be expected to be the primary liaison between the Center and the CT Department of Consumer Protection for the real estate industry delivering continuing education for real estate licenses (mandatory legal courses for DCP). Assist with the execution of the Center’s outreach mission targeted at the real estate professional community, as well as be committed to effective undergraduate instruction, and to the mentoring of students in their professional development. This position will also be expected to assist the University in its efforts to broaden participation among members of under-represented groups; demonstrate through their public engagement and teaching the richness of diversity in the learning experience; integrate multicultural experiences into relevant course content; and contribute to the development of pedagogical techniques designed to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and intellectual interests. APPOINTMENT TERMS This is a full-time, 11-month end-date non-tenure track position with the possibility of annual reappointment, contingent upon positive annual reviews and program funding, and may lead to a multi-year appointment. The anticipated start date is August 23, 2022. The successful candidate will be assigned a primary academic appointment at the Storrs campus, with the possibility of course assignment outside of the base campus or online. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
