Schmid College of Science and
Technology at Chapman University seeks applicants for a non-tenure track,
full-time position of Instructional Assistant/Associate or Full Professor of Physics, effective August 2023. The ideal candidate will have broad training in physics and have experience with both designing and teaching introductory physics courses and laboratories using evidence-based instructional approaches. The ideal candidate will show the ability to teach fundamental physical concepts to a broad audience with diverse prior backgrounds and demonstrate the ability to inspire scientific curiosity. The ideal candidate will have interest in student mentorship, building student community, and assisting with student outreach. Finally, the ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. While this is an assistant professor position, appointment at the associate or full professor level is possible for candidates with the appropriate level of experience.
