Position Description

Associate in Research position is immediately available in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Tissue Engineering laboratory of Biomedical Engineering Department at Duke University under Professor Nenad Bursac (http://bursaclab.pratt.duke.edu/). Responsibilities include maintenance of human pluripotent stem cells, differentiation into cardiac and skeletal muscle lineages, molecular cloning, production of viral vectors, cell transfections and transductions, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence staining, and immunoblotting. The candidate should be able to work alone, in a team, and to perform independent troubleshooting. If needed, the candidate will also occasionally train and supervise undergraduate and graduate students in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

Required qualifications: B.S. degree in biology, biomedical engineering, or related fields, preferably with 2-3 years of post-B.S. experience in cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques.
