The Medium and High Energy Theory Group (sinica.edu.tw) in the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan invites applications for postdoctoral positions beginning in Winter or Spring 2023. The group covers theoretical research areas of astroparticle, particle, nuclear physics, and cosmology, in particular:
- Heavy flavor physics, CP-violation, and perturbative QCD
- Relativistic kinetic theory, fluid dynamics, and heavy ion collisions
- High-energy cosmic rays and neutrinos, high-energy astrophysics
- Hadronic interactions, extensive air showers, and event generators
- Neutrinos in dense medium and r-process nucleosynthesis
- Beyond the Standard Model phenomenology in collider and astrophysics
- Early Universe and gravitational waves
Successful fellows are expected to conduct independent research. The topic is desired to align with the fields of the group's research fellows, including Anatoli Fedynitch, Hsiang-nan Li, Kin-Wang Ng, Meng-Ru Wu, Di-Lun Yang, and Tzu-Chiang Yuan. Collaboration with other faculty members in the Institute of Physics, other local institutes including the NCTS (Taipei, Taiwan), ASIAA (Taipei, Taiwan), or international institutes with overlapping or complementary interests are encouraged.
The contract duration is 2 years and can be extended, subject to performance and available funding. Applicants are expected to have obtained their PhD degree in physics or astrophysics by the starting date, which is flexible within 2023.
