Position Description
We are seeking candidates interested in high-energy physics and related FPGA-based electronics focusing on the R&D of radiation-hard electronics and the application of a new FPGA using atom switch technology. The primary responsibilities for the new position will revolve around R&D for electronics of detectors with accelerators. Our postdoctoral fellows are for three years. Renewal for two years will be considered based on satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds, and ongoing operational needs, and are provided with salaries comparable to those at other prestigious institutions. We may offer a higher position, at the rank of assistant professor, for five years with the possibility of a 2-year renewal to outstanding candidates. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field by the time the appointment begins. Relevant skills/experience include electronics, FPGA firmware development and/or high energy physics. The successful candidate will work with QUP PI Nanae Taniguchi (Belle II/KEK), affiliated researcher K. Ueno (COMET/Osaka Univ.), and other scientists at QUP, KEK, and Osaka University.As a WPI research center, QUP is designed to establish an international environment where more than 30% of researchers are non-Japanese.
