The Theoretical High-Energy Particle Physics Group at the Physics Department of the Technical University Munich (TUM) plans to make several appointments (salary scale TvL E13) at the postdoctoral level. The appointments are usually for two years starting in the fall of 2023. They may be extended by one year subject to funding. We seek candidates with a strong track record in the following areas (associated with the research group leaders as given):
1) Particle physics phenomenology: high-energy scattering and LHC physics, flavour physics, effective field theory (M. Beneke)
2) Dark Matter/Neutrinos (A. Ibarra)
3) Beyond the Standard Model (A. Weiler)
The Theoretical High-Energy Particle Physics Group at TUM currently consists of Prof. Beneke, Prof. Buras, Prof. Garbrecht, Dr. Garny, Prof. Ibarra, Prof. Tancredi and Prof. Weiler, and a significant number of postdoctoral fellows, PhD and master students. The interests of the group cover a wide range of topics in particle physics phenomenology and field theory (theoretical collider physics and LHC phenomenology, scattering amplitudes, flavour and top quark physics, CP violation, strong interactions, extensions of the standard model, neutrinos), and in physics of the early Universe and cosmology (dark matter, baryo- and leptogenesis, inflation, CMB and structure formation). The vicinity of the TUM Institute for Advanced Study, the Max-Planck Institutes for Physics, and for Astrophysics, and in particular of the cluster of excellence "ORIGINS" and the Munich Institute for Astro- and Particle Physics (MIAPP), provides a stimulating environment for research.
Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a brief description of their research interests before November 30, 2022. In addition, the applicant should arrange to have three letters of recommendation to be submitted through the Academic Jobs Online website. Applications submitted before the deadline will receive priority consideration.
