Lecturer positions require a Ph.D. degree in physics. Applicable training and/or experience related to the assigned job responsibilities. The person in this position must have the ability to teach introductory physics courses at the undergraduate level.
Preferred Requirements:
University level teaching experience with introductory physics or related courses will be viewed favorably.
Job Description
The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota is looking for a full-time lecturer to teach up to two introductory physics courses per semester and work on laboratory exercise development.
This position will be responsible for the following duties.
40% Lectures and preparation, in accordance with departmental instructional guidelines.
20% Administration of class (through Canvas) and communication with students
25% Preparation of syllabus, quizzes, tests, homework
15% Supervision of teaching assistants
Other duties of a similar scope as assigned.
