Position Description: |
The high energy theory group at Cornell invites applications for a 2-3 year postdoctoral position to begin in fall 2023. The position will be funded by a DOE HEP-QuantISED collaboration grant, “Complex quantum systems and the quantum universe”, involving 9 institutions throughout the United States, for which we are looking for applicants with a significant research interest in problems at the interface of high-energy theory and quantum information theory. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in meetings of the collaboration and visit other universities in the collaboration. Faculty at Cornell with research in this area include Paul Ginsparg, Tom Hartman, and Peter McMahon. Other Cornell faculty in high energy theory are Csaba Csaki, Yuval Grossman, Liam McAllister, and Maxim Perelstein; research areas include electroweak symmetry breaking, collider physics, flavor physics, particle physics beyond the standard model, lattice gauge theory, string theory, AdS/CFT, cosmology, quantum field theory, and quantum information. Applications should be submitted at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/23898 and should include a CV, a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and three letters of recommendation. All materials should be received by Jan. 2, 2023. For questions please contact Katerina Malysheva at evm23@cornell.edu.
