The Department of Theoretical Physics of the University of Geneva invites applications for a position of an Assistant (Tenure-track) or Associate professor. The Department offers a dynamic and stimulating research environment, hosting strong research efforts in the fields of quantum many-body physics, quantum information, quantum field theory, cosmology and biophysics.
This is a full-time position. Duties include teaching at Bachelor, Master and postgraduate level. Moreover, the successful candidate will supervise masters and doctoral theses. The successful candidate will develop a research program at the highest international level in the field of quantum many-body physics, broadly defined, and secure external funding. We expect that an ideal candidate will have an excellent research track record. We are particularly interested in candidates who aim to develop novel theoretical techniques, and who work on quantum phases of matter and their properties, both in and out of equilibrium. Ideally, a candidate will be able to interact with the groups in quantum many-body physics currently present at the Department. Possibility of interaction with other groups within the Physics Section is considered a plus.
The candidate will also have to fulfil management and organizational duties within the Department and the Faculty.
