Title: Executive in Residence – Data
Engineering & Data Science Duke University’s Master of Engineering in AI for Product Innovation (AIPI) program in the Pratt School of Engineering and the Master in Interdisciplinary Data Science (MIDS) program jointly invite applications for a Non Regular Rank Executive in Residence position. The major responsibility of this position will be to teach four data engineering, data science and/or machine learning courses per year. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist the Directors of the AIPI and MIDS programs with special projects each year which may include sourcing and managing student capstone projects, developing relationships with industry technology partners, and building short-form online courses. The primary teaching responsibilities for this role will include:
Ideal candidates would have significant prior experience
in data engineering and data science in an industry setting. Candidates should
have expertise in the Python data science ecosystem as well as big data and
cloud technologies, preferably AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform. They would also have a PhD or commensurate
industry experience/expertise in a related discipline and ideally have
prior teaching/training and course development experience. This position is
