The Department of Music at Colgate University invites applications for a one-year Visiting
Assistant Professor position in Music Theory beginning Fall semester 2023. Completion of Ph.D.
is required prior to or shortly after the date of hire. We seek a candidate with a degree in music
theory with a secondary field and evidence or promise of scholarly publications. All secondary
areas of research will be considered. The successful candidate will teach five courses including the department’s harmony sequence
and musicianship and songwriting, with the possibility of teaching an elective in their
speciality/area of focus. Further information about the music department can be found at the
