Position Description:
BROCKTON MULTI-SERVICE CENTER ATTENDING PSYCHIATRIST
The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) seeks a board-eligible or board-certified adult psychiatrist to serve as a full-time Attending Psychiatrist for the Brockton
Multi-Service Center (BMSC) in Brockton, MA. Clinical services located at the site include an
outpatient behavioral health and medication management clinic, Adult Community Clinical Services
(ACCS), Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT), and DMH case management services.
The Attending Psychiatrist will provide outpatient clinical services to a diverse group of adult DMH
clients who live in the community and in supported group living environments. We seek an inspired
clinician, committed to the recovery model of care. Ideal candidates will possess a depth and
breadth of adult psychiatric experience and demonstrated ability to function as a clinical leader in a multidisciplinary environment.
Successful candidates will receive a faculty appointment that includes Departmental support for
clinical, training and research. The benefit package includes generous holiday and paid time off for
professional development totaling to more than 7 weeks; generous medical, dental, and malpractice insurance; eligibility to participate in the state’s defined benefit pension plan or a
defined contribution retirement plan; and an annual practice allowance. There is the option for
voluntary night, weekend, and holiday coverage with highly competitive reimbursement.
The Department of Mental Health also has very lucrative student loan repayment programs-candidates who provide direct care or case management in one of DMH’s State-operated programs are eligible for a generous repayment package in exchange for four (4) years of dedicated service. Part-time awards are available, prorated up to 50%. Learn more about eligibility and program details: https://www.marepay.org/department-of-mental-health-dmh.
J-1 and H-1B candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply. The Massachusetts Department of
