Position Description:    

The Coded Aperture Miniature Mass Spectrometer program (https://camms.pratt.duke.edu ) within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University is looking to hire a postdoctoral associate. Our work involves combining computational and compressive sensing techniques to develop unique mass spectrometry instrumentation. See 10.1021/acs.analchem.1c02001 for a review article on our work. The position will involve designing, simulating, building, and testing cycloidal mass spectrometers, using electron ionization and laser ionization, for several different applications.

The ideal candidate would have a PhD in physics, chemistry, engineering, or a related field. In addition, the candidate should be passionate about building and testing prototypes and have demonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English). Experience in one or more of the following skills is highly desirable: • Computer aided design such as Fusion360 or SolidWorks • Software development for communication with hardware • Integration and operation of complex instruments
