The Brandeis Department of Music seeks a distinguished scholar at the rank of Associate Professor with tenure, or tenure-track Assistant Professor. While the area of specialization is open, scholars with research interests in Jewish music and American music are especially encouraged to apply.

We welcome applications from candidates with Ph.D.s in Musicology or Ethnomusicology. An interest in collaborating with other departments and divisions at Brandeis is a plus.

Application will consist of your letter of intent and curriculum vitae submitted to https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/25950. Your letter of intent and your curriculum vitae should evidence your commitment and contributions to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, including information about your understanding of these issues. Separate teaching and diversity statements, writing samples and three letters of reference will be requested at a later stage: please do not send additional materials at this time. This appointment is subject to budget approval.

First consideration will be given to applications received by October 30, 2023. Please contact Eric Chasalow (chasalow@brandeis.edu) for informal inquiries.
