https://titan.cs.gsu.edu/~ciare/) at Georgia State University (GSU) is seeking to fill multiple postdoctoral research fellow positions by the Fall of 2024. Led by GSU, the center is an interdisciplinary research alliance in collaboration with Duke University and partners from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory. The center's research is driven by a collaborative cohort of researchers (faculty, postdocs, ARL researchers along with graduate and undergraduate students) drawn from multiple disciplines to address critical problems in AI & robotics with a focus on human-robot interaction, VR/AR, edge computing, and trustworthy AI.
- Basic function: Research Scientist
- Salary: $75K - 85K
- Duration: Multi-year Position
- Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and evaluate integration of deep learning / machine learning algorithms for emerging networked systems such as Spot, drones, internet of things for applications in the area of search & rescue, emergence responses etc. by working independently as well as in group setting.
- Develop high impact research papers to be published in journals and conferences.
- Coordinates and assure development of pertinent reports and their timely delivery.
- Conducts data collection, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the Principal Investigator especially those related to research training, mentoring, and interdisciplinary projects.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Completed / near completion of a PhD in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, mathematics, or related area.
- Related work experience or willingness to learn and work on one or more of the following areas: AI, robotics, computer vision, natural language processing (LLMs), and computer graphics, and trustworthy AI.
- Excellent written communication skills demonstrated by prior publications.
- Preferred Competencies:
- Adequate research experience demonstrated through publications in top-tier international conferences in the areas of AI, robotics, computer vision, natural language processing, computer graphics, and trustworthy AI.
- Demonstrated programming experience and fluency in Python and PyTorch.
- Experience with 3D computer graphics software tools, such as Blender, Unreal, or Unity.
- Experience of DL algorithm development on FPGA platforms.
- Competence in both oral and written English and ability to articulate concisely and in a professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented interdisciplinary environment.
