The quantum field theory group led by J. Plefka at the physics department of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin plans to make two appointments (salary scale TvL13) at the postdoctoral level. The appointments are initially for two years starting in the Fall of 2024. They may be extended up to four years subject to funding. We seek candidates with a strong research track record and interests in one or more of the following areas
1) Quantum field theory methods for high-precision gravitational wave physics
2) Scattering amplitudes
3) Analytical gravitational wave physics
4) Worldline quantum field theory
The successful candidates will be part of a vibrant research group focussing on High-Precision Gravitational Wave Physics and Worldline Quantum Field Theory embedded in a rich research environment in quantum field theory, string theory, phenomenology, lattice field theory and mathematical physics.
Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a brief description of their research interests before January 7th, 2024 for full consideration. In addition, the applicant should arrange to have three letters of recommendation to be submitted through the Academic Jobs Online website.
Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is seeking to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching, and specifically encourages qualified female scholars to apply. Severely disabled applicants with equivalent qualifications will be given preferential consideration. People with an immigration background are specifically encouraged to apply.
