Position Description

The Stanford Institute for Theoretical Physics (SITP) invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships in theoretical biophysics, very broadly construed, including, for example, cellular, developmental and organismic biology, neuroscience, evolution, ecology, and collective behavior. We seek exceptional theorists who will flourish in, and contribute to, the highly interactive and collaborative research environment at Stanford. SITP Fellows have wide latitude to set their independent research directions and collaborations. The core theoretical biophysics faculty in SITP are Surya Ganguli, Benjamin Good, and Daniel Fisher whose primary current research foci span neuroscience, ecology, evolution and cellular biophysics, but with far broader research interests. Across Stanford, there are a variety of other theorists working on biological problems, and a large range of experimental groups in all areas of biology and biophysics. SITP Fellows are strongly encouraged to develop collaborations with other groups.

The SITP fellowship is expected to begin in Fall 2024 and includes three years of funding with a competitive salary and benefits, and discretionary funds to cover research and/or travel expenses.
