Position Description
RESEARCH SCIENTIST: The Center for Advanced Genomic Technologies in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University invites applications for a Research Scientist. Your main responsibilities will include designing and performing experimental studies to facilitate the development of next-generation cell therapies, including T cell therapies for cancer and other applications. This will include executing various genetic screens to identify factors that enhance potency and durability, as well as maintain specified phenotypic properties. This will also include validation and characterization of screen hits with various cell culture assays and studies in mouse models. Moreover, you will be responsible for identifying plans for translation of these approaches for human clinical testing, including identifying optimal therapeutic settings for these technologies and planning IND-enabling studies. You are expected to manage projects and laboratory staff, contribute to grant writing and reporting, publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, engage in existing and new collaborations within and outside Duke University, and assist with training of undergraduate and graduate students.
