Position Description
The Department of Classical Studies at Boston University invites applications for a 1-year appointment (non-renewable) to the position of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning 1 July 2024. The teaching load will be 2:2. The candidate will teach two advanced classes related to their research area in Greek literature, an introductory course in Greek civilization, and a topics course (preferably Race and Ethnicity in the Ancient World). The successful candidate will have PhD in hand by 1 July 2024. We will contact letter-writers only for shortlisted applicants.
The scholar in this VAP role will enter a close-knit, supportive department, with faculty who are ready to provide mentorship and support. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their own fresh perspective to the study of Greek literature, and can contribute to our mission of understanding the ancient world in new and diverse ways.
