Associate in Research position is immediately available in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Tissue Engineering laboratory of Biomedical Engineering Department at Duke University under Professor Nenad Bursac (http://bursaclab.pratt.duke.edu/). The position will involve both lab management and research responsibilities. The lab management responsibilities will include ordering and restocking of supplies, day-to-day lab operations, implementation of safety rules and SOPs, and maintenance of equipment. The research responsibilities will involve independent and team work involving primary cell isolation and culture, differentiation of pluripotent stem cells, tissue sectioning, immunostaining and imaging, Western blot analysis, molecular cloning, preparation of viral vectors, and qPCR. The applicant should possess good organizational skills, prepare and maintain various types of documentation, and occasionally train students in laboratory techniques, the use of laboratory equipment, and SOPs.
Required qualifications: B.S. degree in biology, biomedical engineering, or related fields, preferably with 2-3 years of post-B.S. experience in cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques.
