The Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina invites applications for a part-time Instructor in Hindi language beginning August 1, 2024. The contract for the position is one academic year (2024-2025) with possible renewal, contingent upon the continued needs of the department. The required teaching commitment consists of two courses annually. Candidates must hold an MA or PhD in fields such as Second Language Acquisition, Educational Psychology, Indian Studies, or a relevant field, along with native or near-native proficiency in both Hindi and English. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience teaching undergraduate students in North America and the ability to instruct Hindi at elementary and intermediate levels. Adaptability with instructional technologies, experience with team-teaching, and demonstration of active participation in the professional field are highly desirable.
