The
Department of Chemistry at Boston University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position, starting as early as June 1, 2024. This is a non-renewable 2-year appointment, offering a 12-month full-time position with a competitive benefits package included.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to collaborate with our faculty in General Chemistry, and Chemistry Education Research, and to be a main contributor to our General Chemistry Large Course Transformation project and associated research projects. These large-enrollment courses serve over 1,000 students each year at Boston University.
The ideal candidate is a broadly trained chemist with expertise in chemistry education research and/or curriculum design and development. We are looking for a strong team player, who can work collaboratively with the teaching faculty and chemistry education research faculty, and independently in curriculum development and related discipline-based education research projects. The successful candidate will join the Abrams group – a chemistry education research team mainly composed of undergraduate research students and post-baccalaureate fellows – and will play a key role in the comprehensive transformation of the general chemistry course sequence. This position focuses on content creation, curriculum design, and education research; there is no mandatory teaching component (although teaching options can be discussed).
