Associate in Research

We seek highly-motivated individuals to pursue protein engineering research in a supportive and collaborative environment. Our goal is to advance the field of protein engineering through machine learning and high-throughput experimentation. We have a large NIH-funded project to develop fully autonomous self-driving labs for protein engineering. The applicant will also gain exposure to other projects in the lab, spanning molecular modeling, generative AI, microfluidic screening, and therapeutic enzyme design. The strong interdisciplinary and collaborative environment at Duke is ideal for our translational research efforts.

Applicants must : Hold a bachelors or masters with relevant skillsets in programming (including Python) and machine learning methods Have excellent informal and formal written and oral communication skills. Be capable of balancing independent research progress with collaboration and teamwork, as appropriate Bring curiosity, enthusiasm, and initiative!
